Default Saturday herping

I plan on herping this coming saturday. I will be going to South Mountain, what would be the best time of the day to go? Thanks!

Very early morning. Night would be good too but I think SoMo trails are day use only.

I would try and hour to an hour and a half before dark depending on the amount of cloud cover and the temps. If it's as cool as it has been you will be just fine. You can hike after dark as long as your vehicle is already within the preserve parking lots. The main portion of the park is closed at 10pm. Just pick a nice big wash and walk.
