In the interest of keeping some bad things out of the environment we share with local herps, I thought I’d pass this along.
On the 21st of April Mesa’s solid waste division is having a “household hazardous waste” disposal event. They have a couple of these each year in each end of town. This one is in West Mesa - 2412 North Center Street. It’s a ways north of McKellips.
You can take in:
Paint, polishes & varnishes; Paint related materials; Turpentine; Aerosol cans; Adhesives; Antifreeze; Automobile tires (limit 5); rims are accepted if the tire has been removed; Appliances (limit 2); Motor oil; Fuel additives; Pool chemicals; Gasoline; Batteries; Mercury; Pesticides; Electronics; Transmission fluid.
DON’T take them:
commercial/industrial waste, 55-gallon drums of stuff, large truck tires, radioactive material, explosives, or bullets/live ammo.
Info is from the city’s website at: http://www.cityofmesa.org/waste/HHW.aspx and there is more available through the site if you are interested.
