Can we bring "outsiders"? LOL My mother in-law may be in town that weekend from Cali. She doesn't keep rep's herself but she is sorta interested in them..... Hell, she even went to the last two shows with me and held her first snake & tarantula!!

We need to know how many people we are going to be feeding. Let me know if you will be coming and how many people you are bringing. Also what side dish or what you are going to bring with you. We need things like ketchup, mustard, relish, lettuce (no spinach!), tomatos, onions and any other side items that you can think of. Lets make this a bigger and better party then the last one!!

Put me down for two people. We will bring pickles.

Also, we'll bring some turkey burgers, as my wife won't eat beef or processed meats...she don't know what she's missing!

bedlamm
10-03-2006, 06:33 PM
Oh, well.

Thought I'd get a reponse to that one sooner, actually.

I'd like to be there, even if it means skipping the zoo that day. There are no buses in Mesa on Sundays:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:, so the commute is prohibitive.

If I can find my way there, I'll bring some sort of seafood/veggie hotdish (not your standard tuna & mushroom soup thing).

Will we have electricity available?

I have a gew-gaw that professes to produce household current from a car's cigarette lighter. If the wattage is low enough (have to check that), some sort of food-warmer/heater could be plugged into that. It isn't enough for most microwaves, I don't think.

I can and will bring camping cook pots or my cast iron pans for anything that needs to be heated or kept warm The last picnic we kept the beans on the BBQ in a cast iron and had no problems. So I am assuming that you will be there Bedlamm??

Beatty should be able to come, since Blakrain and I will be going... If we can stand the nonstop humor from here to Tucson and back again, we can stand it up to North Mtn. LOL It was a fun weekend in Tucson, wasn't it?
As for food, I should have the stuff to make my homemade cornbread.

It was a pretty good trip. Thanks, again.

I guess I'll start looking for scraps behind the Chinese buffets in the area, so I can have my seafood dish in place.

katsnake
10-13-2006, 03:54 PM
I forgot which one, but there should be a map/directions posted later, I think someone at the general meeting said it was the large gazebo. Looked like on the South end - if the map was printed with N facing the top of the page. LOL Details will be forthcoming soon though.

My psychic abilities tell me you'll start feeling a little ill on the night of the 4th. You should definitely call in to work on the 5th and come out to get some fresh air. It'll fix you right up!:sheep:

This was a post begging for a ride to the potluck. I'm covered, so I guess I'll use it to say "FOOD!! I'M THERE!"

I will bring at least a half-dozen serving implements plus my food thing.

Don't forget to bring your snake hook, tongs and camera. I'll be showing you how to safely rescue and relocate venomous snakes and I'll show you some photography tips. Maybe we can get Brendan to teach us all a thing or two about reptile photography ? :applause:
