I was seriously contemplating starting my own "kingsnake.com" website; basically a front for everyone to post animals for sale. I just got shot down for a new employment opportunity, so I've decided to go solo. Do you think it would be worth a try?

I would look into the legal rammifications first. IRS might just see that as a business and want their cut, ya know?

Obviously. I know that I am going to start a business, and I know that I will pay taxes; I'm fine with it. I'm sick of working for other people; all they do is bitch and whine; make them do it themselves and maybe they would understand. Anyway...

Do you think it would be a good move?

I definitely think it would a good idea, and I think a lot of us in here would take advantage of it. So, let us know if you decide to go ahead and do it.

Good Luck,
Edward

I have friends that have tried to do the same, however they quickly learned that they needed to get the site started and running before quitting their jobs.

It takes a long time to get a site like that going where you have a reliable following, especially now, it was much easier 10 years ago.

Sounds great man. Just dont be like a guy i knew who opened a comicbook store in Cali. He didn't have a regular job to help with the bills after start up and spent all the profits during that time on pizza and things like that. DOH :stormy

Understood.

I do not want to live life wondering what could have happened; I'm going to pursue it. If I fail, I know I tried.

Your absolutely right and you may as well try now before you get older, married, kids, ect.. you have a lot more too loose then than you would now.

Best of Luck to ya!

Thanks Donna.

I know once I get established it will be hard to leave that (i.e. a house, a family [both of us do not want kids], etc...) so I want to get started as soon as I can. It may take me a while to get things up and running, but I need to try. There are a lot of things I dislike about kingsnake.com, and I have the knowledge and resources to change that.

If anyone has any ideas about the layout or what you would like to see, let me know; it's a work in progress.

I'm all for entrepreneurship, but a word of caution.
Before you undertake this pay attention to the following:

www.faunaclassifieds.com

do some research, there's a whole lot of interesting stories there....

I know it will be hard; expecially when the owner or "kingsnake.com" likes to throw out law suits... I have to worry about a lot of things, but I can take anything that comes my way. As long as I do it legal, I'm fine.

Thanks for the words of concern. I'll check out "faunaclassifieds."
