Well it finally happened to me i have lost a snake:(
I get up to check on them this morning and i notice one cage has been left open a crack, well i go to see where he is and nope.
So in a painc i tear the house apart and still no sign of him:(
Hard lesson learned, check all your cages before you go to bed and check them well,

When this has happened to me they usually turn up in the strangest places. Had one crawl up inside the clothes washer and bite my wife when she stuck her hand in. LOL She didn't find it as amusing as I did.

Don't give up hope of finding it. Keep a water bowl down in the room where you lost it, maybe a few others in other rooms also. The biggest risk to loosing them is dehydration so having water down will increase your chance at finding it eventually.
Our friends little girl lost a corn snake in her room, a week later she found it dead. We gave her another one and a year later it too escaped however she knew to keep water down. After 3 weeks I had them make a scent trail using a F/T mouse and after the house was quiet, they turned out the lights and sat in waiting and sure enough he came slithering out ate his mouse and they scooped him up before he got away.
We lost one of our balls and after several weeks of leaving water out I finally found her curled up under a tank stand. She was thin and had shed but had problems because of a lack of humidity however she's finally recovering.
So, give it a few weeks, you'll eventually find it. I've heard stories of people finding snakes many months later.

My wandering garter snake was out for 7 months, my neighbor 2 houses down found it swimming around in her pool.

What happened? Did it just wander off one day? :)

I had it out in my pond for a morning meal of minnows, i turned my back to it for less than 10 seconds and it was gone.

My cousin once had an Albino Burmese Python. One day it escaped. He found it a week later. He was going to pick it up when it latched on to his toe. There was alot of yelling since it started to eat his toe. They finally got it off, but then gave it away.:(

How big was it? Why did he get rid of it, was it because he got bite or ???

He got rid of it since it was too much responsibility. It was a 2 footer. He sort of misses it.

I've lost the same snake 3-4 times. Only one other snake. It was a Ball Python, and my little brother kept forgetting to close the door on it's cage before he went to sleep. We always found it either on this bookshelf we have, or next to a powerbar. It's easier to find them during the winter, when they need heat more. That's how we always found them in Cali.
But, I've also lost a few tarantulas. Right before church, I put my BRAND NEW baby Kinga Baboon that I'd wanted for the longest time, into a kritter keeper, failing to see how the lid didn't fit by less than half a centimeter. He got out, and they're extremely deadly. But I found it INSIDE my cricket tub. WOOT WOOT. Other than that one tarantula, the rest of my lost animals are because of brothers. If you don't have brothers, go home and thank your parents tonight... Just kiddin. Couldn't live w/o 'em

Don't lose hope about finding your snake.
I have lost my kingnsnake two times, the last time I lost my kinsnake out of cereal feeding box (don't use cereal boxes to feed). My 3 yr old kingsnake escaped into the space between the walls and my cabinet. For over 5 weeks I knew my kingsnake was there, but didn't know for sure. On top of that my 3 yr old daughter was crying and super upset that one of her favorite snakes had gone bye bye and daddy couldn't find it. After losing hope for over 5 weeks, I eventually put of mouse with some food/water next to the hole between the cabinet and the wall. I left the mouse there for 4 nights and on the fifth day I found my kingsnake out of the wall trying to get into the mouse container for food. Snakes are secretive and elusive by nature and definately don't lose hope that yours won't turn up.:Think

I lost a speckled king in Indiana (forgot to slide the door shut). 2 months later while collecting about 1/2 mile from my house I found the speckled under an old barn door. Yep, same snake. No speckleds there. He regurgitated a couple of crusty reptile eggs on capture.:)

Mark, I'm sure all these stories of escapee snakes are reassuring to you. Now you don't feel like the only one to ever "LOSE" a snake. But I'll tell you how to get your snake back Right Away!!!!
Invite family over (the ones who HATE Snakes, usually the IN-LAWS)
The snake will most likely crawl right into their lap!!! Snake is home, family won't Visit anymore, everyone is Happy. HEHEHEHE LOL LOL
I crack me up.:D

I attend Arizona Shaolin Kenpo Academy:hi
The Dojo also shares with a Shinkendo(Japanese Sword)class.
The art of Kenpo has its orgins in both the Principles of Okinawan and Chinese Kenpo Karate and Shaolin Kung Fu,making it a uniquely well-rounded system.
I have just started myself but have been intrested in the Martial arts for many years, having been stationed in Japan back in my Navy days,

Thats great Mark,congratz!
I was going to get into Aikido, mostly due to my size,i dont see myself doing a spinning back kick at my current weight:rolleyes:
But the head instructor at A.S.K.A. has had guys bigger then me,older than me and got them down to size and turned lean mean fighting machines within 2 years:D

Got some 50/50 Cal Kings from Mark today, well yesterday now. Went to take a cat nap at 8pm before work woke up at 9:30PM to a strange feeling on my leg! Jumped outa bed started throwing covers off and sure enough one of them had gottin out and crawled up the side of my bed and gottin under the covers with me. GAH!!!!!
Crosses fingers that it didn't slip out under the door and scare the snott outa my sister. Although i would have loved to see the look on her face, i think she woulda turned me into dogmeat.

LOL.. it was just wanting to snuggle where it was warm....
I once had a garter snake that Dad caught in the woods get loose and Mom "discovered" it under the kitchen stove trying to find a warm spot on the tile.
Last month our Cal King found a way out of its feeding container and was hiding in the box below it. We knew she was only missing for about 5 minutes, her feeding container was on the top shelf of the closet in the bedroom (she likes privacy when eating) and it was on top of a box of collectibles. My fiance was trippin' out and I knew that this was where she "had to be" so started looking, sure enough, she was found within minutes. LOL :D
