Trying out the Canon Pro 1 8mp. This camera doesn't have a night framing mode in it and I was a little nervous at night looking into the bucket with a black screen. I kelp cropping this picture to the point that you are seeing now.

That rattler looks huge....not hurting for any food there.

It was about 26-28". I thought it was too small to be eating even a baby rabbit.

It's surprising how big of meals an atrox can eat. I once found a baby atrox crossing the road in the Santa Ritas that had just swallowed a collared lizard that was bigger than it was! You could see the lizard through the skin. The poor little snake looked like a potato with an atrox head and tail at each end. It was doing its best to get off the road but was doing maybe 1 IPH (inch per hour) There was no way it could turn to bite so I was able to just pick it up and place it in front of a burrow underneath a bush.
So did she get to eat the bunny later? :-)

Well I dont know. When I left she was in the bushes about 10 feet from the cottontail. The laser and flash from the Sony 707 seems to make some atrox's and scutes mad. I am thinking if she gets the scent that she will take it.
