(Az.) Black Sunday part three.........

hoping to get one more in before my wife woke up and wanted dinner (I'm the official Sunday cook;) ) I ran down th ehill, jumped into the veh. and drove to a nearby site. The site in question is just a 1/2 inch crack in the rock. I had to get into a halfway down pushup position to see into the crack. I could see three little black heads in a row that I thought would make an awesome pic. I looked down and six inches below my chest was this BIG (for my area anyway) male hiding in the grass. He never gave any sign of noticing my presence.

but not wanting to get as close as before I did my best to get the shot but only manages to get two of the heads into the picture.

I looked to the right and saw a pile of 6-7 little (16 inch)females very well hidden in the grass along side the rock surface. It took a moment for the camera to reset after the last pic and in that time most of the females went sstraight up into the crack. I shot this as quick as I could. You can just make out some scales from a snake behind her.

shot up into the crack leaving only this little girl who just didn't care.
