Guess the bug...

I went to Bagdad last week and saw only one snake: A coachwhip that disappeared down a hole before I could get a picture. So I thought I'd post a pic I took of this little bug and see if any of you can ID it (I do know what it is, BTW).

Oh, and a hint: You probably won't see these unless you are very actively looking for them.

I'm not convinced. He does have that "Parents just don't understand" this-is-my-room-anyway, bad-attitude look on its face. Not sure how mature that is.

I LOVE THEM THINGS!!! When I was young, we (my friends , bro and I) would sit around the house and catch these guys by teasing their homes (ant traps) with twigs. We would see who could fingd the biggest one...I thought it was cool anyhow :P. I see them still during my hiking trips. Actually a very common invert, and pretty cool none the less. I always had a hard time finding other folks who knew what they were......

Me too, actually. That's why I posted the pic to see if anyone else recognized it. Perhaps we're just too sheltered from society up here in Prescott :).

In any case, I hope to actually have a pic of a snake by this weekend, provided that the temps go up.
