thought i would share

my neighbor found a gopher snake in his front yard about 15 minutes ago. beautiful snake real light EXTREMELY fat almost pregnant looking or like it just ate a baby rabbit or two. even had some striping on the neck. if you look in the second pic you can see something either bit or chopped the end of the tail off. poor snake. here are some pics.

you have to see it in person to believe the fatness. it was a chubby snake! well fed wild!

It looks like it just ate. That's awesome though. Hey, if a gopher snake ovulates, how many months before its eggs hatch? I was thinking it might be ovulation, but I'm not sure whether they hatch in fall or spring. It might be if they hatch in the fall. Don't quote me on it, lol...

if appearance of young is any indicator, hatch in late summer to early fall (August-September).
