The people who found this python in a block fence tried to pull it out. It would not bulge. When I arrived the poor snake could not move. A good shot of cooking oil on the snake gave enough lubrication to ease it out of the block.

Not a python but a Boa. Good job getting it out. Hope it does well.

A couple of years ago, New Years Day, 2002, I went to retrieve a young Savannah Monitor from a block wall. It was stuck so hard and holding on tightly that I could not get it out - at least until the owner brought out a 4-lb sledge and said, "Break the wall!" Another good use for cooking oil. IS there a commercial endorsement there?

I think I was called out on this, but I couldnt make it (bedridden with flu:( ) However, sounds like a perfect rescue to me. Knowledge, skill and brains. Well done.

Jerry, Wlydcard,Herpskeeper and Eevelsmf.. I thought of the hammer, but was going to save that idea if nothing else worked. I would have bought the guy a new block and installed it...Not a problem if it came to that. I will feed it and keep for two weeks. If not claimed by the owner it may show up at the meeting as a raffle with the proceeds to the AHA (Andys idea). Hope you are feeling better now Eevelsmf

Yes, I agree with everyone here, good work! :D I hope that beautiful snake dose well, getting stuck in a wall must be quite an experience. I wonder who it once belonged to?

I think that is a great idea to bring him to the next meeting if you decide not to keep him. I would probably do some type of donation to the AHA because you would get more than if you put him in the raffle. Great job! much respect for your contribution to the organization.
