I just wanted to share a really great picture I took of one of my Savannah monitors. He is so awesome! He's about 38in long and 6 1/4 lbs! He's about 21 months old and still growing!:eek: His name is Typhon.

He is as sweet as a savannah monitor can be (I think). I got him when he was only 12 grams! He was only about 5 inches long and i worked with him everyday and was able to make him very friendly where I can walk him, cut his nails and even sit him over my shoulder. I have another savannah monitor (a black throat) who's still a baby (24 in.) who I am working with now too. I just love monitors. Typhon can be very intimidating, a lot of people won't hold him (if I didn't know him I would probably hesitate too). Here is another picture of him after he has just woken up, he looks a little intimidating, but don't let it fool you.:)

I'm a lizard lover so I think he's adorable. :) Now all the guys here can make fun of me for thinking a lizard is adorable. I'm trying to work on not being afraid of snakes, it's not going well and I'm the care taker of a really sweet corn snake.
